Qt Design Studio 4.8.1 Released

Qt Design Studio 4.8.1 Is Here!

Roughly one month ago, we released Qt Design Studio 4.8.0. The release introduced the new project storage backend, which enabled us to remove a significant amount of legacy code from the build. This resulted in better performance and stability.

Now that the platform has fundamentally improved, we are ready to begin deploying enhanced and new features.

Introducing the Qt Design Studio AI Assistant

We have been working on this behind the scenes for a while,and it's now ready to be released in beta. Try it out and let us know what you think!

The Qt Design Studio AI Assistant is available for anyone with Qt Commercial Design Studio license (Qt DSP/Qt DSE). It is a powerful,  prompt-based tool that generates a user interface without requiring any prior knowledge of the QML language.

Although the Qt Design Studio AI Assistant is marked as BETA, it's already packed with features. We provide most well-known AI models pre-configured — just insert your API key and you're ready to go. If you're not satisfied with the response, you can easily switch the AI model from the drop-down menu - no need to reconfigure anything.

The Qt Design Studio AI Assistant comes with documentation that helps you get started, allowing you to unleash your creativity. You can view the details directly from online documentation without installing the software.

While at it, see what happens when you drop an image to the project and let AI analyze it and even create UI to match that image - using components, not plain image. 

Summary Of Included Fixes

In the fixes, you'll find a number of long-awaited MCU improvements to the workflow. In addition to them, we have added many stability fixes for the new local project storage backend, for detailed list of fixes please see below:

• Qt for MCU related: This release contains a lot of fixes for the workflow when using Qt For MCU as target environment. 
• Bug Fixes: Our change log contains more detailed information on the update, including small improvements and bug fixes.
• QML debugging instructions: By default, the tool does not reveal in-depth information of possible errors in your QML project. If you want to dig deeper, you might want to check out the debugging guide.
