Volker started working with Qt in the late 90s, and joined Trolltech as an intern in customer support, which he led until Nokia bought the company in 2008. Volker left Nokia in 2011, and gathered experience from various industries as a freelancer, in a small Norwegian startup, and in an international telco.

Volker returned to Qt and C++ when joining The Qt Company in 2018, finding to his surprise that some of his code is still in use, most notably ActiveQt. Today he leads the Graphics and User Interface development teams in Oslo and

Oulu, and helps the Qt Widgets maintainers with bug fixes.
