How well can you code Qt for MeeGo? Enter the Qt WeTab App Challenge

To celebrate the MeeGo Conference (May 23-25, San Francisco), 4tiitoo, WeTab, Nokia, Qt and Intel challenge you to develop the best looking, most innovative, awesomely conceived and wonderfully functional Qt-based app for the WeTab. Developers can choose to create apps for five categories: communication, games, entertainment, knowledge and tools. The best app in each category will receive a WeTab, cash and other merchandise prizes from Nokia, Qt and Intel.

All the winning apps will be deployed in the WeTab Market. You will also have the possibility to deploy your application in the AppUpSM center in order to make sure that all users of the WeTab and other upcoming WeTab OS and MeeGo-based devices can download/purchase and use your app.

What’s the WeTab?

The WeTab is the first MeeGo tablet computer on the market and unlike its tablet brothers and sisters, the WeTab offers open software and hardware. The WeTab OS based on MeeGo technology runs on an open platform where anyone can contribute.

“We are 100% dedicated to MeeGo and the Qt community and that is why we decided from early on to standardize the WeTab on Qt/MeeGo. MeeGo and Qt offer an unsurpassed freedom to developers and WeTab OS strongly believes in open source. Accordingly it supports applications from multiple platforms and technologies for best and unrestricted web and computing experience. We look forward to building our WeTab Market with the stunning Qt apps we are surely going to receive from this challenge,” said Stephan Odörfer, CTO, 4tiitoo.
