1. BASIS FOR PROCESSING
The Qt Company Oy (“The Qt Company”), as a data controller, is committed to protecting the privacy of its users, the persons visiting The Qt Company’s web pages, as well as other persons whose information The Qt Company uses. Any personal data processed by The Qt Company through its web pages or related to the downloading or use of the products or services of The Qt Company is processed pursuant to the following guidelines: The Qt Company will process any personal data of the users of its products, services or website only pursuant to the applicable data protection legislation. The personal data is collected and processed for the controller’s legitimate interest (as stipulated in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) article 6.1(f)) to process the personal data of the users for such purpose, and such interest is not being overridden by the privacy interests of the user, unless otherwise specifically defined below or in a separate privacy notice provided to the user.
2. PURPOSE OF PROCESSING
Qt Tools User
If you are a user or a visitor of web pages of The Qt Company or have downloaded or intend to download or use the products or services of The Qt Company: (i) the purpose of the processing is the provision and improvement of the web page’s products and services as well as the marketing of said products and services, and (ii) you will be referred to hereinafter as “Qt Tools User”.
Application User
If you are a user of an application in relation to which The Qt Company provides digital advertising technologies and services which provide advertising and monetization services/products (whether owned or through its partners) to marketers and supply partners including through digital media, sites, surveys, owned or operated application(s)/widgets, exchange(s) for demand/supply, marketing automation solutions and other services, such as, fraud detection, reporting, audiences, attribution, analytics, and measurement: (i) the purpose of the processing is to provide and develop such services and (ii) you will be referred to “Application User” below.
3. PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED
Qt Tools User
The Qt Company may process personal data that:
- a user actively provides during account creation or otherwise in response to forms or questionnaires, or sales inquiries and transactions such as the name and physical address, email addresses, telephone numbers, and employer or a user;
- is available from third parties related to or relevant for the use or licensing of the products and services of the Qt Company, or is related to the use of the website, products or services of the Qt Company such as download history and IP address as well as information on the users’ activities while using the website, products or services.
Application User
The Qt Company may process the following personal data:
- Device identifiers: Device identifiers are alphanumeric strings that are unique to your device;
- Location information of the device: Including geo-location of your device as well as location information we infer from your device’s IP address;
- Network information: Available information about the network you are using including the IP address;
- Other information about/on your device: Such as device type, device startup time and update time, device name, screen size, memory and hard drive capacity, operating system, mobile browser used, language settings and time zone; and
- Other marketing information: Our customers, partners or vendors may disclose to us certain personal or non-personal information they have separately collected about you during your interaction with their apps, sites or services so that we can effectively provide our Services. This may include cookies, other technologies, or other aggregated characteristics or other identifiers related to your device to understand your interaction with such site and to serve certain types of ads relevant to your interests.
4. RETENTION PERIOD
We take every reasonable step to ensure that your personal data is only processed for the minimum period necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Qt Tools User
Your data is stored for the duration of your use of the services provided by The Qt Company and as long as your account is valid, and thereafter the applicable period for limitation of legal claims, and any additional periods required or permitted under applicable law, such as license management purposes.
Application User
The Qt Company may retain information collected in the context of our Digital Advertising Service for a period of up to thirteen (13) months unless otherwise required by law or justified for the purpose processing described above.
5. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
The Qt Company does not sell personal data to third parties. The Qt Company may engage service providers to process the personal data. Also, The Qt Company may for its business purposes and subject to the limitations of the applicable law, transfer such personal data to third parties to the extent such transfers are reasonably necessary for the business purposes of The Qt Company. You may receive a list of third parties with whom The Qt Company shared your information by sending a request to the contact details listed at the end of this document. The Qt Company may among other things provide to a company list of downloads of the Qt Company products using an IP-address linked to the company or in relation to which the name of the company has been provided by the user.
6. TRANSFERS OUTSIDE EU/EAA REGION
Given the global nature of The Qt Company’s business, processing data for the above purposes may involve a cross-border transfer of the data provided to The Qt Company. Any cross-border transfer of the data including any transfers outside the EU/EEA will be carried out in strict compliance with the applicable law to ensure protection of your privacy. Any such transfer may be carried out also on the basis of using appropriate contractual measures (primarily using European Commissions Standard Contractual Clauses under GDPR article 46.2). You may obtain a copy of the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses (where applicable) by contacting the Qt Company using the details set out at the end of this policy.
7. SOURCE OF PERSONAL DATA
Qt Tools User
In addition to the data submitted to The Qt Company via the web pages of The Qt Company, The Qt Company may collect data about visits to the pages of The Qt Company and/or the use of the websites, products or services of The Qt Company to improve, develop and test the websites, products and/or services of The Qt Company as well as for data and product security and related purposes. To the extent reasonably possible data on the visits to The Qt Company website and use of The Qt Company website, products or services is anonymised or pseudonymised.
Application User
In addition to the above, The Qt Company engages with third-party site/app publishers and app developers to serve ads on their digital properties on behalf of its demand-side advertising partners through various channels of advertising solutions including exchanges, network, off-network etc. The Qt Company may also serve ads on consumer offerings, such as independent mobile applications, web content services, lock-screen platforms, social entertainment platform(s), widgets, and/or other software features. The Qt Company also engages in campaign planning, measurement (e.g. whether an advertisement was viewed, its timestamp etc.) and attribution of advertisements, whether by itself or through third-party measurement partners. The Qt Company receives data from various sources, including end-user information collected by our systems, applications/offerings, partners, data/cookie vendors, or customers, which may include third party apps, sites and services that you use. The Qt Company is not responsible for how those third-party apps, sites, and services collect and use data.
The Qt Company asks that you do not send, and you do not share any sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, criminal background or trade union membership).
8. MARKETING
The Qt Company would like to keep you updated and send you news and information by email or other electronic means. For this purpose, The Qt Company may ask for your consent in the form, “Send me news and information on Qt products and services” or a similar wording. By ticking or clicking such consent you will receive emails and other electronic communications from The Qt Company regarding news and information on its products and services including offers that The Qt Company makes for such products and services as well as invitations to participate in events or surveys. For representatives of corporate customers or potential customers, or customers who have obtained a Qt product or service, The Qt Company may send such news and information without a consent. You may opt-out of receiving such news and information at any time.
9. DATA SECURITY
The Qt Company will keep your data secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures against its unauthorised or unlawful processing and against its accidental loss, destruction or damage. The Qt Company will do our best to protect your personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of your data which is transmitted to our website, applications or services or to other website, applications and services via an internet or similar connection. If we have given you (or you have chosen) a password to access certain areas of our websites, applications or services please keep this password safe – The Qt Company will not share this password with anyone.
10. COOKIES
We may use cookies and beacons to help us collect some of the information we have described above. This may be done when you interact with us or our third-party partners who enable The Qt Company to collect data related to your interaction with their apps or sites for the purpose of serving relevant Ads to you and/or improve our services.
We may also use cookies to provide website functionality and advertising to you, and to save you having to provide the information you have already given us on subsequent visits to our site.

11. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
The Qt Company may update its Privacy Policy from time to time. If any change materially reduces your rights or the obligations of the Qt Company under this Policy, we will post a prominent notice in this section of the website of The Qt Company notifying users when it is updated.
12. INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS
According to the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access to your personal data
- Right to request us to rectify incomplete or incorrect personal data
- Right to object to or restrict the processing of personal data and to object to automated decision-making

- The right to opt out of receiving electronic direct marketing communications from us: All electronic direct marketing communications that you may receive from us, such as e-mail messages and SMS-messages, give you an option of not receiving such communications from us in the future.
According to GDPR article 77, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority concerning the processing activities carried out by us. Such complaint may be lodged in particular, in the member state of your habitual residence or place of work or where the alleged infringement took place.
