We are happy to announce the release of the Qt Visual Studio Tools version 2.6.0. Installation packages are now available at the Visual Studio Marketplace.
Version 2.6 adds support for multi-platform Qt development with Visual Studio / MSBuild C++ projects through the Linux development VS workload. This makes it possible to build Qt projects in Visual Studio using a cross-compiler hosted remotely (or on a local WSL instance).
You can track work progress and provide feedback at bugreports.qt.io. Please feel free to report any problems, or make any suggestions/comments and help us further improve the Qt Visual Studio Tools.
We'll be following up soon with an extensive post detailing how to develop in Visual Studio a multi-platform Qt Quick application targeting Embedded Linux devices. We will describe all steps of the development process, starting from scratch with the creation of a new multi-platform Qt Quick project in Visual Studio, to cross-compilation, deployment and remote debugging.
Stay tuned!
