The regular support of the Long-Term-Support release Qt 5.15, the last release of the Qt 5 series, ends on the 26th of May 2023.
We recommend customers who haven’t yet converted their legacy licenses or purchased an Extended Support package to secure the continuity of support in the coming months.
Customers with perpetual or term-based licenses with access to only the Qt 5 series can choose among the following options:
Customers choosing to convert to a subscription license can also unlock one of the following benefits:
We have recently added the one-year technical support for older Qt 5 releases to help customers in industries with expansive certification requirements (medical, aviation, and defense industries). This will allow customers to continue shipping their Qt 5.x embedded devices while upgrading to Qt 6 and going through the certification process. This benefit is open to all industries.
Installations of Qt 6.x releases by customers surpassed the number of Qt 5.x releases last year and have continued to rise since then. Especially the introduction of the Qt 6.2 Long-Term-Support (LTS) release has activated many customers to start working with Qt 6. Many customers that have upgraded from Qt 5 to Qt 6 and converted from a legacy license to a subscription license have benefited from the advantages mentioned above.
If you would like to know more about the subscription conversion offering or Extended Support, then do contact your Qt Sales Manager or contact us directly.
