Automotive – Qt Safe Renderer

This demonstration shows the Qt Group solution for meeting ISO 26262 functional safety requirements in the automotive domain. The Qt Safe Renderer (QSR) is a certified software component for use in mixed-criticality environments, and is certified as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) to ISO 26262 ASIL level D. Here, it is configured for the NXP i.MX8 processor running Linux.

In addition to road vehicles, the Qt Safe Renderer and the general approach taken here is relevant for other industries including medical device software (IEC 62304), industrial electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems (IEC 61508), railway applications (EN 50128), and tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry (ISO 25119).
