TM5 mini eye tracker is a hands-free computing device that offers superior user experience for the disabled. It is powered by AEye technology, EyeTech’s latest generation of algorithms, software, and hardware. The module can be easily mounted to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) speech devices and shared across multiple computers (home, work, school), enabling people to communicate from anywhere, at any time of day.

Why Qt

Multi-OS support was a critical factor in the decision to use Qt for the development of TM5 mini. Qt’s cross-platform capabilities have been beneficial in terms of development time, resources, and cost savings allowing EyeTech’s software engineers to focus on UI optimization and the improvement of the overall user experience. Behind TM5 mini’s fast installation, easy customization, feature-rich UI is Qt and its ability to provide fast design and programming, ease-of-use and appealing graphical UI.

“We needed to create a product for the severely disabled which would allow them to access the Windows operating system with our eye tracking cameras. We knew this project would, more than anything, involve extensive GUI capabilities. After looking at all the options, we elected to go with Qt for the development. The product is now released and is working great. It truly provides a ‘window to the world’ for the severely paralyzed.”

Robert Chappell, CEO & Founder, EyeTech Digital Systems
