Unique Graphical Elements

Frame

The unique graphic element of Qt Development is a frame, consisting of two separate corner parts.

The frame element is a good way to display and reveal different types of content. Place images, video footage, or short text (taglines, slogans) inside the frame to highlight, or separate them from the rest of the layout. The frame can also be animated or used as a main element of any motion graphics used across the brand materials.

This section explains how the frame is used in its static form and how it looks in motion.

Content

All content placed inside the frame should fill the area between the two corners and should be aligned to the center of it.

Keep the texts short and brief (max. 3 lines of text).

In order to keep the layouts clean, avoid placing the logo or other competing graphical elements inside the Frame.

Color Combinations

The frame can be used with the Qt Development brand colors, neon and pine. It can also be placed on white backgrounds. The general rule is that any text placed inside the frame should match the color of the frame.

When images are placed inside the frames, make sure that there is sufficient color contrast between the frame, background and content.

Frame Shape and Rules

Proportions

The frame is designed using the grid shown below. Always use the shape in its original form. Do not redraw or modify the proportions of the frame.

Placement and Sizing

When placing the frame element in layouts, we recommend subdividing the shorter side of the container and using the length of that as a base unit for scaling the frame.

To avoid the shapes becoming too small or too large, don’t make it smaller than 1/4 or bigger than 1/2 of the shorter side of the container.

Creating Layouts

The shapes can be used as a frame that spans across the entire area of an application.

Alternatively, you can use it for framing only a certain area (1/2 or 1/3) of a layout. Try to use the frame on the right half of any page.

The frame should always be aligned to the top left and bottom right corners of any surface that they are used on.

Don't Do

Always use the frame in its original form. Modifying the frame element is forbidden in any of the following ways.

Never change the color of the frame, not even to the additional brand colors taken from the Qt Color System.

Don’t overuse it! Avoid using more than one frame element/page.
