Qt Meets Certification Standards

Functional safety requirements are increasingly relevant in a number of disparate markets, from hospitals, roads, railways, industrial vehicles, and factories. With Qt Safe Renderer, you can develop modern embedded systems that are both functionally safe and fully dependable.

TÜV NORD certifies that the Qt Safe Renderer meets the tool requirements of several standards and that it can be used as a software supporting tool in a software safety life cycle according to IEC 62304:2015(2006 + A1).

Why Safe Rendering

Safety-critical information, as encoded by warning indicators, telltales, etc., should be displayed promptly and correctly even if some malfunction prevents the proper functioning of the main UI. Qt Safe Renderer ensures this by partitioning the safety-critical functionality into an independent subsystem running its own process. This ensures that, even in case of failure of the main UI, the safety-critical component will continue to work.

  • Use ready-made UI components created according to the MISRA C++ and MISRA C Guidelines for critical systems
  • Use the new Monitor component to create safety-critical UIs for a wider set of different processors and system architectures
  • Design, implement, and verify safety-critical UI across different languages >with minimal effort
  • Enjoy the pre-certified runtime component to render the safety-critical UI on your target device.
