The Squish team is happy to announce the release of Squish GUI Tester 9.3.0. With support for automated testing of applications built with the latest Qt 6.12 LTS release, this version helps you keep your test automation in step with your application development. But there's more: Squish 9.3.0 also introduces Java 25 support, a new Qt Account login option for licensing, and object introspection for MCU testing. Read on to discover what's new.
Squish 9.3.0 meets Qt 6.12
Following the release of Qt 6.12 LTS, Squish is ready to help you test applications built with it. Squish for Qt 9.3.0 adds support for automated testing of Qt 6.12 applications, so you can keep your GUI tests running as you migrate to the latest LTS release. Java 25 Arrives in Squish for Java
Working with Java 25?
Squish for Java 9.3.0 now supports automated testing of applications running on this latest Java version. To make it possible, we replaced the legacy approach to instrumenting Java AUTs with ASM, a modern Java bytecode framework.
This change not only bring Squish up to date with the latest Java releases, but more importantly enables it to adopt a more secure approach to bytecode instrumentation.
Integration to Cloud Qt License Server via Qt Account Login
Getting started with Squish just got more convenient. You can now log in with your existing Qt Account directly from the Squish installer or the Squish IDE to obtain a Squish license. When you log in, Squish connects to the Cloud Qt License Server, which provides your license. That means you can use the same credentials you already use for other Qt products, without needing a separate license server details for Squish.
For smaller teams and deployments, this also means less infrastructure to manage. With Qt Account login, you can obtain a Squish license without having to set up and maintain your own license server.
Object Introspection on MCU devices
Squish for MCUs takes another step beyond image-based testing with support for object introspection and property verification. Instead of relying solely on images and screen coordinates, you can create tests that interact with application objects and verify their properties. The result is a more robust approach to test automation that is less dependent on how an application looks on screen.
