The Squish team is happy to announce the release of Squish GUI Tester 9.2.0, your ultimate tool for automated GUI testing. This release brings a host of improvements designed to make your testing more powerful, and your life a little easier: from a unified license model and accessibility-based recording on Android Automotive, to support for a new family of MCU devices, and enhancements to Squish AI Assistant, an AI-powered companion of the Squish IDE.
Release Overview
In belows video Bastian Steinbach, Director of Product Management and Product Marketing at Qt Group, walks you through the latest feature additions coming with Squish 9.2.
Test Recording in Android Automotive
Testing Android Automotive apps just got a whole lot easier. Starting with this release, Squish for Android supports recording interactions on accessibility elements. This allows test engineers to capture complete, real-world user workflows in automotive apps such as infotainment, navigation, and media, without writing platform-specific automation scripts from scratch.
For teams already using Squish on other Android platforms, the new feature brings Android Automotive up to speed, so you can use familiar record-and-replay workflows, and test consistently across all Android platforms.
Support for Infineon Traveo II MCU Devices in Squish for MCUs
Attention embedded developers: Squish for MCUs adds Infineon Traveo II to the set of supported MCU target boards, enabling image-based automated testing of applications built with Qt Quick Ultralite (QUL) on this new platform.
As with other supported MCU boards, end-to-end test automation workflow is the same: you can record and replay test cases, flash a testable applicationonto the board, and integrate with third-party vendor tools, both in the Squish IDE and via the command line.
Note: Qt Quick Ultralite 2.12 or newer is required for automated testing on Infineon devices.
Squish AI Assistant 1.1.0
Squish AI Assistant, your AI-powered companion in the Squish IDE, has been updated to version 1.1.0 alongside this release. This update focuses on user experience, with several quality-of-life improvements that make working with the Assistant more productive and flexible.
Highlights include persistent chat history, improved session management, and support for custom LLM models. Now you can pick up conversations where you left off, handle longer or parallel sessions, and adapt the Assistant to your organization’s preferred AI setup.

Support for the Qt License Server
With this release, Squish clients can now obtain its license from an on-premise Qt License Server (QLS), a modern network-based license server designed to simplify and centralize license management across all Qt products.
On-premise QLS installers are available in the download area of the Qt Customer Portal and you can start using QLS right away as an alternative to the existing Squish floating license server . Be sure to check out our licence model overview to choose the best licensing option for your organization.
