Qt Creator 19
Qt Creator 19 was released in March 2026, highlighting:
- Minimaps for a simplified overview in text editors,
- Automatic detection and setup of remote build devices,
- A basic Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementation for AI clients,
- Lightweight support for Ant, Cargo, Dotnet, Gradle, and Swift projects.
In addition, there are various improvements on performance and usability.

Qt Creator 18
Qt Creator 18 was released in October 2025, highlighting:
- Development containers to significantly ease kit configuration,
- A convenient Overview tab, showing content from the other tabs, suggested learning content, and developer blogs,
- A possibility to request publishing IDE Extensions for a limited group of 3rd party publishers (in closed beta).
In addition, Qt Creator 18 comes with various user experience improvements.
RELEASED JUNE 2025
Qt Creator 17
Qt Creator 17 was released in summer 2025, highlighting:
- The light and dark themes as the default,
- Run configurations as a "part of" the build configuration, so that switching the active build configuration also switches the set of available run configurations.
