Ground Control to C4ISR: Qt Group for Defense Drone Programs

Knowingly or not, a great deal of drone software is built with Qt—and for good reasons. The interface an operator commands, the map a mission is planned against, the live video feed and the telemetry coming off the vehicle all depend on real-time performance, advanced graphics, and connectivity that adds no latency of its own.
This webinar covers how to build, certify, and scale mission-critical drone software without vendor lock-in, cost overruns, or compliance gaps:
- Program risk — how the choice of software foundation affects delivery timelines, supplier dependency, and long-term maintainability across a fleet's lifecycle
- Development capability — the Qt Framework's libraries for graphics, connectivity, geolocation, and multimedia, and what they take off a program's plate
- Certification — what DO-178C, DO-278A, and DO-330 mean for program timelines, and the quality assurance tooling that produces the evidence they require
Qt Group engineers then dissect QGroundControl—the most widely used ground control station, built largely in Qt—and show efficient ways to customize it with little engineering and maintenance effort. Beyond that, the team demonstrates how much farther Qt technology reaches, toward advanced C4ISR systems and live common operating pictures.
