Want to learn QML but don't know where to start? We've made it easier. Qt Academy's QML for Beginners course is now on YouTube, as we're bringing our course videos to a platform developers already use, starting with the complete QML for Beginners playlist.
Why did we choose YouTube? The answer is simple: accessibility. YouTube is a popular and familiar platform for learners all over the world. Our courses are created by Qt experts and designed specifically for developers who prefer learning through video. Whether you're completely new to QML or have some experience with Qt, these structured playlists will help you build a solid foundation.

The playlist covers eight essential topics, progressing from basics to more advanced skills in QML development. While you can explore these courses in any order, we designed them with a clear progression in mind. The roadmap below shows the recommended order to build your skills:

Intro to QML > Intro to Qt Quick > Intro to Qt Quick Controls > Positioners and Layouts > Model View Delegate > QML Best Practice > Fluid Elements and Animation > Debugging with Qt Creator
You can find all these QML video tutorials combined in our full QML for Beginners playlist, or explore them one by one from the courses tab on Qt Group's YouTube channel.
YouTube is great at delivering video content, but learning often requires more. As you progress with QML, you might want more hands-on challenges, knowledge checks, or a deeper dive into specific topics. Or you might be a text-first learner, and we have you covered, too! The QML for Beginners learning path on Qt Academy provides an enriched learning experience, with challenges for each topic, and awards you a certificate at the end.

Qt Academy complements the YouTube experience with interactive elements, badges, certificates of completion, and a broader course catalog. Once you've worked through the YouTube basics and want to go deeper, we recommend you explore our free courses at Qt Academy platform with your Qt Account.
Visit our Qt Academy courses on YouTube and find the QML for Beginners playlist. Follow along, build your first applications, and see what QML can do. The videos are there whenever you're ready to learn.
Looking for more? Create your free Qt Account and explore Qt Academy for more courses, interactive challenges, and the complete Qt development learning experience.
