About the Role
IAR is part of Qt Group, operating as an independent business focused on embedded software development. We provide software development tools that help engineers develop, debug, test, and secure embedded software for products across automotive, industrial automation, medical technology, and other industries.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer for the team that owns IAR's license management platform. It’s a cloud-based system used directly across all IAR's subscription products, alongside an on-premises option. The team works across the full stack, sharing ownership of both the cloud services and the client software installed on developers' machines, with most new development happening on the cloud side.
You'll work closely with your team in day-to-day production work, keeping services current and resolving issues as they come up. There's plenty of room to grow into deeper cloud, DevSecOps, and infrastructure work as your interests develop.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain cloud-based services powering IAR's license management platform, used directly across IAR's subscription products.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations connecting the platform's services.
- Keep services current and secure by scheduling and performing updates.
- Share responsibility with the rest of the team for our client-side license software, alongside the cloud platform.
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the team on architecture, priorities, and technical decisions.
- Get involved in wider platform work, including containerization, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
What You Bring to the Table
- Extensive experience in scripting using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with strongly typed languages such as C# or Java.
- Experience building or integrating REST APIs.
- Comfortable working across both Windows and Linux environments.
- You need to understand Swedish.
Bonus Points For...
- Prior experience with C++.
- Experience with Docker or other containerization tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS), CI/CD, or DevSecOps practices.
- Awareness of security best practices, such as dependency or vulnerability monitoring.
