Congratulations Qt Champions 2025!
January 07, 2026 by Volker Hilsheimer | Comments
Through the Qt Project, both The Qt Group and a global community of developers, open source projects, customers, and partners work together to evolve the libraries, tooling, and documentation. 2025 has been a very active year again, with consistently well over 500 commits merged into the different Qt modules and branches every week. Nearly 200 contributors to the code base are not working for the Qt Group and account for about 15% of all commits. A big Thank You to all of you!
Contributions to Qt go beyond code: the community actively participates through bug reports, forum discussions, technical support, documentation improvements, and more. All of which are essential to ensuring Qt’s quality, popularity, and continued growth.
All of this makes Qt a truly collaborative project, and each year we want to recognise members of the Qt community that have stood out through their participation in the project. You have replied to our call for nominations, and now the wait is over.
We proudly present the Qt Champions for 2025:
- Petr Mironychev in the category Developer for his famous Qt Creator AI code assistant QodeAssist
which he constantly extend and improves. QodeAssist supports both local services and cloud
based providers and brings modern AI capabilities to the Qt ecosystem. -
Peter Varga in the category Developer for his continued work (over 10 years!) on Qt Web Engine,
with an impressive amount and quality of commits. He has not only been one of the top contributors during 2025,
his overall patch history goes back to 2011, and puts him into the list of top contributors every year. -
Ahmad Samir in the category Quality Assurer for his large amount of quality code contribution
and the even higher amount of reviews. With his knowledge he is covering and constantly improving
the whole Qt code base, not only with patches but also in deep technical discussions. -
Alexandra Betouni in the category Community Builder for her voluntary help at the
Qt Contributor Summit and creating courses for Qt Academy. She also served as a judge for the
Qt;Athon, and regularly organizes Qt meetups in Greece and other countries. -
Lukas Kosiński in the category Content Creator for creating the Qt Academy Medical Learning
track and his extensive Qt vs Flutter vs React Native comparison. Beside all this promotional
work he also acts as Qt and C++ meetups host in Poland and other countries.
Not counted, but still mentioned is Mitch Curtis. Beside his maintainer work on Qt Quick Controls,
he actively participates in bug report and mailing list discussions to get the best results. Beside that,
he is also one of the Qt Discord server moderators and helps with creating content for various learning
courses.
Congratulations to all our Qt Champions 2025!
A special Thank You goes out to our Lifetime Champions, who helped sort through the nominations, and continue to support the community with their experience and expertise.
