Image Types
Photography
Photography grounds Qt Group in real life. Photos are high-impact visuals used in events, presentations, on the website, and in other high-level materials that position Qt Group as a major technology provider.
3D
3D images are high-impact visuals showing what's possible now and in the future with Qt technologies. With 3D, we can show a unified vision of the future with Qt.
Illustrations
Illustrations help with complex storytelling. Illustrations are informative, flexible and cost effective to produce. Illustrations have a strong brand look & feel and should be coordinated together with the brand team.
Tool and product UIs
Tools and product UIs are very informative and show how our products really work. We use stylized UI images to explain how the products work and what their benefits are, in a compelling, brand-consistent way.
Icons
Icons enhance visual communication and improve visual design in user interfaces. Icons are used to represent information in a clear, distilled way. Icons are not a storytelling tool. Icons are not used in large formats. Max icon size is 72px.
Image Hierarchy and Themes
Our image hierachy ranges from brand images, that display our meaningful role in people's lives, to product-related and technical images displaying software creation at its very core.

Brand Images: Users
On a brand level, we depict people. We want to showcase how technology meets humans. Users can be divided into and Qt Group's technology users and product end users. These are high-level visuals used across the product brands.
Qt Group's Technology Users
Technology users are the behind-the-scenes heroes who make great software possible. The designer, developer and quality assurer. These bold images highlight technology users as visionaries and modern software enablers.

Product End-Users
Product end-user images show people in their work or everyday environments where technology plays a key role. They can also describe a process of product and software development. The images have max. one person at a time, using an embedded device, testing software, or using desktop/mobile application (e.g. VR goggles, a touchscreen)

Employer Branding
Employer brand images are visual representations that convey Qt Group’s identity, culture, and values to potential and current employees. These images are used in various media, such as social media posts, career pages, and recruitment materials, to attract and engage talent.
Brand Images: End Products
Industry clay renders
These general-level renderings highlight Qt's technologies' role across different industries, depicting devices and applications where the technologies have been used.

Industry Abstracts: Coming Up
Technology And Industry Images
Technology Images
Series of compelling images that communicate our tech’s core concepts. These images help communicate Qt Group's value in software creation. Currently foundation images have been created for five different topics:

Industry Images
Key industry visuals that maintain a consistent look and feel across various industry verticals, using our latest and greatest demo UIs in real-world setting. Each visual incorporates unique elements relevant to the specific industry, focusing mainly on Qt Group's role in that industry. When possible, we show software made or tested with Qt. Industry visuals are modern, and professional, and appeal to a broad audience through high-quality images and graphics that capture attention and convey messages effectively.
Our key industry verticals are:
- Automotive
- Industrial Automation
- Industrial Vehicles
- Medical
- Consumer Electronics
- Micromobility
- Aviation and Aerospace

Platforms
Unified look & feel across all the major platforms Qt is used in.
- Desktop, mobile and web
- Embedded Devices
- MCU
- Cloud

Product and Tool Images
Block frames* and informative illustrations educate and help prospects understand the full potential of our products. Product imagery often combines different views from our tools and demos to show capabilities, functions, and features. Product images can be high-fidelity or simplified.
Attached examples: Screenshot of Design Studio, AI Assistant feature blockframe, Axivion's simplified UI.

*Blockframes are product illustrations that showcase product capabilities and features with floating boxes of different actions.
Other Images
In social media, presentations, blog posts, and articles etc, we use a wide variety of images outside our common themes. In these settings, where the expected image is not meant to be long-lasting, we will have more possibilities regarding image type, style and content. For a quality and coherent visual representation, extra effort is needed to match these points:
- Does the chosen image(s) add value to the content. We want to avoid visual clutter.
- Images are color-graded and edited to the style guidelines below (Image Selection and Editing).
- All images used as a set are carefully selected to match each other visually.
- Other companies also use stock images. If these images are widely used by other companies, this can harm our brand’s uniqueness and authenticity.
- Don't use AI images unless they have been reviewed by the brand team.
AI and Stock Images
When incorporating images into our brand materials, it’s important to be mindful of the overuse of stock and AI-generated images. While these resources can be convenient, relying too heavily on them can dilute our unique visual identity and make our brand appear generic. To maintain a distinctive and authentic look, prioritize original photography and custom visuals that reflect our brand’s personality and values.
We highly advise not using AI images in external presentations. To use AI-images, please review the images with the brand team: brand@qt.io
How to Use User Interfaces (UI) in Images
We use UI in images to visualize software and therefore our images should have a strong focus on user interface created with Qt. We value well-crafted UI to show what's possible with Qt. For high impact, we create suitable UI for each image or use existing UI from our latest demos created in-house.
- Custom UI, please contact brand@qt.io
- Demo UI, please see the latest demos: https://intranet.qt.io/display/QTDemos
Image Selection and Editing
While producing and selecting images for Qt Group, make sure you follow the thematic and editing guidelines. The images that are being selected should match each other visually.
Editing guidelines:
- High contrast, deep shadows and light crispy lights
- High detail (camera raw - clarity)
- Whites neutral or slightly (selective color) saturated with blue and yellow
