As you sometimes need to stay on a legacy Qt version, you can continue to get critical vulnerability and security maintenance patches with Qt’s subscription services. They extend your ability to maintain and secure your legacy-enabled devices and applications.
Ensure Security After End-of-Support
In principle, we encourage you to upgrade to a supported Qt release. In addition, it’s advisable to ensure you can keep upgrading also in the future. However, for cases where upgrading is not feasible, we offer security patch services for Qt Framework releases after their end-of-support.

An expansion to the Extended Security Maintenance to provide security patches for your defined environment beyond what is otherwise available.

Extended Security Maintenance
In some cases, it may not be feasible to upgrade from a legacy release to a supported one. To extend your ability to maintain and secure your legacy-enabled devices and applications, we offer a service subscription to Extended Security Maintenance (ESM) for named Qt Long-Term Support releases.
What Is ESM?
The ESM provides access to critical vulnerability and security maintenance patches relating to most Qt libraries after the end-of-support of a Qt Framework release. Third-party libraries are excluded.
While ESM provides you the means to patch an unsupported Qt release, it is meant as a temporary solution. In long term, the only advisable solution is to upgrade to a supported release to ensure robust maintenance and potential regulatory compliance.
Current ESM Offering
Currently, the ESM is available for Qt 5.15 since May 26, 2025.
The ESM is available for 3 years starting from the end-of-support date, and it can be combined with Extended Support for more help and support services. In addition, each software developer needs an active Developer License. For more information, see also the Support Terms.

What About Support?
Along with the security patch subscription, we recommend looking into the Extended Support service to get also technical support. It provides you Standard Support for a release after its end-of-support date, and it’s available for any Qt release.
Premium Security Maintenance
As the Extended Security Maintenance (ESM) is only available for given Qt releases, sometimes it’s not feasible to use the latest Minor release, or you may need to use a non-supported platform. To temporarily extend your ability to maintain and secure your legacy-enabled devices and applications also in those cases, we offer a service subscription to Premium Security Maintenance (PSM).
What Is PSM?
PSM expands the ESM subscription to provide security patches for your defined environment (Qt version, platform, compiler). The service includes analyzing if the security patches provided via ESM are applicable for the defined environment, and porting of the patches to that specific environment when applicable and possible.
The PSM is available for max 3 years together with ESM, and offered with an annual contract and it can be combined with the Extended Support for more help and support services. In addition, each software developer needs an active Developer License.
