How to Get Started
The certification tests are organized on an instance of the GetCertified testing platform owned by YouTestMe. To take the test, you need to register on the platform. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Familiarize Yourself with the Testing Process and Requirements
Before registering for the platform, read the relevant test rules and the pre-test preparation checklist.

Step 2: Register for the Testing Platform
After submitting your registration, you’ll need to authenticate yourself using two-factor authentication. Your platform password is sent to you via email from certification@qt.io.

Step 3: Run an Equipment Check and Book Your Certification Session
Once logged in, begin by running an equipment check to ensure your equipment is compatible with testing. Once passed, sign up for a certification testing session.

Before the Test

Brush up on your terminology and key concepts.

Log in to the platform and test that your equipment is compatible with testing. Learn more here. Do not leave this to the last minute, as you might miss your testing time!

You need a desktop computer or a laptop to do the test.
- You must have a web camera and a microphone (either integrated or USB) connected to your computer.
- You'll need a stable Internet connection.
- While taking the test, it is recommended that you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (no older than 6 months).

Test Day Guidance
- Make sure to find a calm place to take the test.
- Log into the platform a bit before the test starts.
- When the test session is available, you'll see a "Start" button on the test session you booked.
- Complete the system check and start the test.
- All tests are proctored. This means that a person is monitoring you while you take the test. You cannot see the proctor, and they will only contact you if needed.

After the Test
The test result will arrive within two weeks of your test. You'll get an email when the results are ready.
- If you passed the test and the proctoring, you can download the certificate from the platform.
- All certificates are valid for 24 months.

Can you take the test as a minor?

All test takers must be above the legal age of consent in their jurisdiction.
How long are the certificates valid for?

The certificates are valid for 24 months from the test completion. The validity is marked to each issued certificate.
Can I take the test whenever I want?

No, you cannot. The tests are organized in fixed times and you need to book the test session a business day before it starts.
How do I know if my system is matching to the testing requirements?

Log in to the platform and do the equipment check before you register for a test. This way you can check that you are ready for the test system-wise.
Do you use AI in testing?
- Certifications
All tests are proctored by a human. We do not use any AI in the testing nor the proctoring process.
I want my account in the testing platform to be removed, what should I do?
- Certifications
Send an account removal request to certification@qt.io. With account removals it is good to keep in mind that the removal is final and any of the testing data cannot be retrieved after the removal has been done.
How long are the proctoring videos stored?

The proctoring materials are stored for a month from the test session.
In which languages are the tests available?

Currently tests are available only in English. You can change the platform language from login screen.
I booked a test but am unavailable at the test time. Can I reschedule?
- Certifications
You can reschedule a booked and paid test attempt up to 5 times. Rescheduling must be done at least one business day before the originally scheduled test session. Rescheduling is only possible if future test sessions are available for the same test you originally booked. If no future test sessions are available, you may request a free booking by contacting Qt Certifications (certification@qt.io); however, free booking is not available if any future sessions exist.
Where do I find my certificates?

You can find all the certificates issued to you under your certification platform profile. You’ll find your profile by selecting the profile image from the upper-right corner in the portal. The certificates are located under the 'Certificates' tab.
I did not pass the test. Can I retake the test?

You may retake the rest in a future test session. Each test attempt, including retakes, is paid for separately.
Do I need to show my identity card to identify myself for the test?

No, but you are required to do two-factor authentication.
Are the old certificate test (Qt 5) available?
- Certifications
The previous tests for Qt 5 will be added to the testing platform later. However, they will be available only for a limited time.
What does a proctored test mean?
- Certifications
It means that there's a person (proctor) monitoring the test session ensuring the integrity of the test. As a test taker, you won't see the proctor and they will only reach out to you if needed.
I have problems sharing my screen. What to do?

You need to give access to windows management from the browser settings. See troubleshooting tips for screen sharing.
I have problems taking my image during the system check. What to do?
- Certifications
Sometimes this might take several tries. This can happen if the space is too dark or too bright. Also, make sure your face is fully visible, and if you wear glasses, try removing them. Keeping your shoulders visible to the frame can also help.
